A new school is opening in Oceanside Unified School District, designed to offer instruction tailored to student needs! Parents interested in online and customized learning options can now enroll at Surfside Educational Academy.

Oceanside Unified School District is opening enrollment for incoming kindergartners to enter the dual-immersion program, which develops biliteracy in both native English and Spanish-speaking students from a young age.

Nutrition Services has continued to feed our families during school closures by ensuring that each child can have up to 15 free meals every week. In honor of School Lunch Heroes Week, we want to take a moment to honor these incredible members of our team. 

A South Oceanside Elementary 5th grade class raised $800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, earning an Olive Garden catered pasta party. With schools closed, they donated their meal to Tri-City Medical Hospital staff working through COVID-19.

In this transitional time of nationwide school closures, OUSD staff have shown their commitment to learning and growth by becoming top users of a professional development program called Alludo Learning.

OUSD had a special visit from partners at the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS). They serve a vital role in advocating for districts with have a large presence of non-taxable federal property in district boundaries. 

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards named Oceanside Unified a National Board Accomplished District for supporting teachers in their pursuit of National Board Certification.
