Migrant Education works with the public schools to advocate for educational rights and opportunities for the children of migrant workers.

You may qualify already!

If you are 21 years old or younger or if you have children between 3 and 21 years old and your family has moved in the last three years to look for work in agriculture.

Work that may qualify you:

• Fruit, vegetable, or tobacco harvests
• Dairy farm
• Fisheries
• Lumber or care of plants to sell (no landscaping)
• Poultry plant work

 What does Migrant Education offer for your children? 

• Help with school enrollment, interpretation at school meetings, relaying messages to and from school
• Help with making and interpreting for doctor appointments necessary for school
• Educational programs
• Information about other resources such as social services or health
• Help with the exchange of information from school to school
• Provides summer activities and programs to keep student on track for the fall

The Migrant Education Program works to help parents become involved in the school life of their children, helps students have more success in their classes, and provides opportunity for enrichment of school work.  All services are cost free.
