Gifted and Talented Education

The Oceanside Unified School District is committed to serving Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students according to their identified capacities and needs. GATE students are provided with differentiated curriculum and instruction in order to go above and beyond the Common Core State Standards. It is the district’s intent to:

  • Create academic rigor throughout the schools
  • Serve both high-achieving and at-risk gifted and talented students
  • Serve populations which reflect the diversity of the community
  • Meet the intellectual needs of all students so they can reach their highest potential
  • Increase the application of critical, creative, and problem solving thinking skills
  • Promote positive social-emotional skills
